What is a Buyer’s Agent?
Many people will employ the services of a Real Estate Agent for selling a home, but are not aware of the advantages of having an agent represent you when purchasing a home.
As your agent, I will:
- Help you locate the type of home you want in the area you want in a price range you can afford.
- Negotiate the best price.
- Assist you in obtaining financing.
A professional buyer’s agent is your best resource when buying a home. A buyer’s agent is there to represent only you and to help you as a buyer to find and purchase your perfect home. They are your agent, working for you alone in the transaction. If you see a sign on a home you like and call the listing agent, they can help you purchase it, but they are representing the seller. The same if you visit an open house. A buyer’s agent who you have chosen will stand up for you, negotiate for you and insure you get you the best possible deal. They are on your side alone.
What will it cost me?
Typically the real estate commission is paid by the seller, so it shouldn’t cost you anything. Having a buyer’s agent is FREE for the buyer. But if you have had an agent take their time to show you homes and work with you by sending you listings and you use another agent to purchase the home, the one who has given you much time gets nothing.
What Else Can They Do For You?
A licensed real estate professional acting as a buyer’s agent will provide much more than the service of helping you find your ideal home. They are also expert negotiators with other agents, they can connect you with financial advisers, they have a wealth of neighborhood and community information. They can answer your questions and help you know what is going on. They will know what is a good price for a specific home. When you decide on a home, they will know how to best get your offer accepted.
